Collection: Matanzas Inlet

Photography prints from Matanzas Inlet, Florida — the dramatic point where the Matanzas River meets the Atlantic Ocean. The shifting sands, powerful currents, and wide-open skies here create a landscape of constant motion and changing light. These prints capture the raw,
untamed energy of one of northeast Florida’s most compelling natural features. Available as fine art paper prints, metal prints, and ready-to-hang framed pieces.
Available in fine art paper prints.

Matanzas Inlet

Matanzas Inlet is where the Matanzas River empties into the Atlantic, just south of Marineland and north of Flagler Beach. It’s a dynamic, ever-changing landscape — sandbars shift with the tides, currents carve new channels through the sand, and the interplay between river and ocean water creates a constantly evolving shoreline.

For photography, the inlet offers something different from the open beach. The water here has movement and texture that’s hard to find elsewhere— tidal flows pulling against incoming waves, creating swirling patterns and foam trails that make for incredible long exposure images. At sunrise and sunset, the wide-open sky reflects off the shallow water, turning the entire inlet into a mirror of color.

Wildlife is a regular presence at Matanzas Inlet. Shore birds gather along the sandbars, pelicans dive into the tidal currents, and during certain seasons, you’ll spot dolphins feeding where the river meets the sea. These moments of natural life add another layer to the photographs from this location.

Our Matanzas Inlet collection captures the drama and beauty of this unique coastal feature. Each print is produced on archival materials in sizes ranging from 5x7 to 24x36 and beyond.
